Case #1—An active young female with
unexplained headaches and low back pain…

A 21 year old female patient came to see us with symptoms consisting of severe low back pain and neck pain. As a very active student, these issues were interfering with her life. The low back pain was enough to keep her from activities that she loved, and it was keeping her from her active lifestyle. Her treatment consisted of chiropractic adjustments to mobilize the areas of her spine that were most out of place, along with electric muscle stimulation and intersegmental traction therapies to facilitate the adjustments. Rehabilitation exercises were also given in order to strengthen muscles. After a month of pain relief care, the patient stated that her low back pain had decreased a great deal, and she was able to return to her normal activity level. She stated that the headaches were also less frequent, and she had only experienced 3-4 headaches since the start of her care, whereas before, they were a daily occurrence. The patient has been treating with us for about 5 months and is now in her strengthening phase of care. At her last re-examination, she stated that she never has low back pain, even after a strenuous workout, and the headaches seem to be a lot less frequent and intense. Chiropractic helped her to return playing the sports that she loved!

Case #2—52-year-old male with degenerative joint disease…
A 52 year old male came to us with low back pain that he described as excruciating. His job required him to lift 80-100 lbs at a time, so it was really interfering with his quality of life. The patient also presented with significant neck pain and associated left arm numbness. His X-rays revealed degenerative joint disease in the neck and the low back. The exam findings showed loss of range of motion in the neck and low back as well as positive orthopedic tests. His treatment consisted of chiropractic adjustments to restore normal motion and position to the bones of his spine that were most out of place. He was also given strengthening rehabilitation exercises. He is now in his strengthening phase of care, and his range of motion in the neck and low back are completely normal. He has no positive orthopedic tests and he no longer has any neck pain or low back pain. He has experienced many benefits from chiropractic care, including being able to perform more efficiently at his job and without pain!

Case #3—61 year old female with arm and leg numbness…
A 61 year old female recently came to us with arm and hand numbness as well as pain throughout her entire spine. She has had daily neck pain for the past year which she describes as a 10 or 11 out of 10 on the pain scale. She also has numb/tingling sensations in her arms all the way to her fingers and in her legs all the way to her feet. Her exam revealed severely decreased range of motion in the neck and low back regions as well as several positive orthopedic tests. After a month of intensive pain relief care including chiropractic adjustments, electric muscle stimulation and intersegmental traction, she has experienced a 75% decrease in her pain levels as well as a 50% increase in her range of motion. Her pain occurs about half as often as it did from the start of her care, and the numb/tingling sensations in the legs and feet have decreased as well. She has enjoyed a great response to her chiropractic care and will continue to experience greater benefits throughout her corrective care.

Case #4—53 year old female trying to take less pain medication…
A 53 year old female came to us 6 months ago with complaints consisting of neck pain, low back pain, headaches, and carpal-tunnel-like symptoms in her wrists. Her pain was of a long standing duration but had recently become worse. Her goals were to take less over the counter pain medication, as the daily use of medication was causing problems with her gastro-intestinal tract. Her exam findings consisted of a slight decrease of range of motion in the neck region as well as severe loss of range of motion in the low back along with pain on 5 out of 6 ranges of motion. Her treatment consisted of chiropractic adjustments, electric muscle stimulation, intersegmental traction, and range of motion and strengthening exercises. She has proceeded through relief, correction, and strengthening phases of care and has experienced great results. Her range of motion is totally normal, her pain levels are now described as 0/10, and she hardly ever takes over the counter medication anymore.
